Why This Animal?
Kingfishers are beautiful and rare, and that’s exactly why they deserve a spot in Slick Chick’s collection. They remind us that some things in life need to be cherished and cared for. By adding the kingfisher to our designs, we hope to bring awareness to its endangered status while also giving our community something colorful, unique, and meaningful to wear.
Story behind the design?
"So we went with friends on this SUP tour. Silence all over the lake, paddling, enjoying and suddenly a flash of blue flew by. We drove to the shore where the bird landed, that was the first time I ever saw a Kingfisher. It was an undeniably beautiful creature, shining out against the full green background. I've never seen such a beautiful patch of colour in all my life, and I'll never forget the admiration it evoked - and still evokes - in me. I couldn't help myself, I dreamed up this t-shirt design that day"
